Description: The train trip could have been better. We took the Coast Starlight from Seattle to Oakland, but unfortunately due to track maintenance south of Tacoma, they had to bus us to Portland. It got little better from there. The total delay by the time we arrive was 8.5 hours, and the train was missing two recreation cars, which gave us very few places to stretch our legs or let the boy wander. The scenery was absolutely beautiful through the Cascade Ranges, though... thanks to the delay, we were awake for them, since that portion is usually during the dead of night.
