Comments: As he got into the job, Aaron Favela (framing contractor) discovered that the kitchen wall was, in fact, a supporting wall, contrary to the findings of the structural engineer. The solution everyone came up with was to remove the ceiling and double up the joists going across from the main interior wall to the exterior wall. Hence, the inside of our ceiling, for your viewing pleasure. This picture was taken standing in the former hallway, looking up at the former kitchen wall.
